Coles announces new kid’s collectibles range featuring Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts characters

A little magic is happening at Coles. The supermarket giant partnered with Warner Bros to release their latest in-store collectibles featuring Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts characters. The Magical Builders collectibles will arrive at Coles next week, featuring Wizarding World characters and plastic-free and recyclable play kits.

From Wednesday, 6 July, customers will receive a free Coles Magical Builder character with every $30 spent in one transaction at Coles supermarkets, Coles Online and Coles Express.

Almost one year after committing to no longer giving away plastic toys at the check-out, Coles has worked with Warner Bros to bring collectibles to Aussies in a sustainable way with characters like Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley and made from 100% FSC® certified cardboard that is also recyclable in household recycling bins.

Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws, and Slytherins can enjoy exploring their magical world with four recyclable plastic-free play kits depicting iconic settings fans will instantly recognize from the Harry Potter films.

Customers can let their imaginations run wild by building their own Hogwarts castle and Quidditch pitch or constructing a Platform 9¾ and a Hogwarts Express.

Coles Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Ronson said: “Coles is thrilled to work with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and one of the world’s most beloved entertainment franchises to create an Australian-first collectible campaign that will bring a bit of magic into Australian homes.

“We wanted to find an interactive and sustainable way for customers to have fun that will appeal to kids and guests of all ages. We know that Australian fans have been waiting for a Wizarding World collectible campaign like this for a long time, so we are excited to work with Warner Bros. to bring Coles Magical Builders to life.

“With over 30 beloved characters and four iconic settings available to collect, Magical Builders will allow customers to get creative as they build their magical world – all with the bonus of being plastic free and recyclable.”

The release comes after Woolworths announces a partnership with Disney to design their latest batch of collectibles for in-store customers.

The collectibles are reusable woven patches, known as Fix-ems, that can be adhered to surfaces or permanently ironed onto fabrics like cotton T-shirts or denim jackets as the ultimate ’90s throwback.

They can be stuck to a water bottle, pencil case, phones, and even skateboards.

“Fans will stick-em, create-em, wear-em and reuse-em in so many creative ways – from personalizing jackets and sneakers to lending some flair to their bags and bike helmets – the possibilities are endless,” The Walt Disney Company Australia and New Zealand consumer products vice-president and general manager, Meagan Sanders, said.
